Shop staff, volunteers and customers are set to celebrate the re-opening of the newly refurbished British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland Shop in Westside Plaza this week.

The BHF Scotland shop closed for renovation last month and the work has seen the interior improved, with new lighting, laminated flooring and bigger display areas. The shop exterior has also undergone a facelift and now features smart, new signage.

Shirley Taylor, BHF Scotland Shops Area Manager for Edinburgh, will perform the opening ceremony on Thursday.

Ms Taylor was also the shop manager when it first opened in 1995, and said: "We look forward to welcoming new and returning customers through the doors of our revamped shop.

"We are delighted with the changes. We hope that the local community will continue to support the shop as they have done so magnificently in the past."

The refurbished Edinburgh shop is urgently appealing for donations of clothing, accessories, handbags, shoes, books, records, videos, DVDs, CDs and bric-a-brac to help fill the shelves.
