The Edinburgh Christmas Golden Tinsel Mile, Sunday 6th December 2009, Inverleith Park - Royal Botanic Garden

Up to 1,000 people are expected to take part in this years Edinburgh Christmas Walk on Sunday 6th December starting at 11am in Inverleith Park.  You can choose your favourite charity or just enter for the fun of taking part. We want to encourage people of all ages and ability to take part in what is going to be a tremendous and enjoyable day out.

The start and finish for the walk will be in Inverleith Park.  For many it will be the first opportunity to go through the fantastic new John Hope Gateway entrance to the Royal Botanic Garden. The route will also take you along the peaceful Water of Leith and then you can soak up the village atmosphere of Stockbridge.  We are not forgetting the very young, elderly, disabled or those who think the six mile walk is a little beyond them. The Christmas Golden Tinsel Mile starting at 11.30 am will be an event that anybody can take part in, you can walk or stroll it!  Just come along and take part.
