As the credit crunch threatens homeowners in Edinburgh, Shelter Scotland is launching a new free initiative to help people access housing advice and information online.

Housing problems can affect anyone, and the charity's website offers invaluable information to help tackle them.

From Tuesday, November 25, "web buddies" will be on hand at McDonald Road Library on Leith Walk, every Tuesday and Saturday from 1pm to 2.30pm to help people find advice on Shelter Scotland's award winning website.

Project manager Jen Clark said: "The service is ideal for those who don't have access to a computer or aren't confident using the web."

Anyone with internet access can visit the site at www.shelter.org.uk/getadvice
