Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following a spate of vandalism to cars in the Polwarth area.

The incidents all happened between February 29 and March 2 in Dundee Terrace, Tay Street and Watson Crescent.

In total, six vehicles suffered damage to their paintwork after being covered in a paint-stripping substance.

Police are now asking anyone with information to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "These mindless acts of vandalism have inflicted significant damage to the vehicles.

"We believe the same individuals to be responsible for these incidents, and we appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything suspicious to contact police immediately."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131 or Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
