Police have appealed for help in tracing a 14-year-old girl who has been missing since Saturday.

Alba Macleod Berongos was travelling on the 6pm train from Glasgow to Edinburgh with her father when she went missing just before Haymarket station.

It is not known whether she got off the train or remained on it as it returned to Glasgow.

Alba is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, with slim build, brown eyes, and brown hair with blonde and pink tips.

She was wearing a black and red checked jacket, black trousers and black and white deck shoes.

Lothian Borders Police urged anyone who has seen a girl matching Alba's description, either in Glasgow or Edinburgh, to contact them.
