Letter campaign helps post victory for Oxgangs branch

The under-threat post office in Oxgangs is to be saved from closure – after local residents, politicians and even the Army backed a campaign to save it from the axe.

The office on Oxgangs Broadway was put forward for closure in October after two other branches were saved in the last round of city-wide cuts.

Now, following the campaign, the Post Office has backed down and reversed its closure plans.
