Heroes and Heroines exhibition

The Amnesty International ‘Heroes and Heroines’ exhibition – featuring 12 men and women who have dared  to speak out against human rights abuses in the face of repression – is coming to libraries across the city.

The exhibition will be on show at Leith Library from 7 to 26 September.  It then moves on to Stockbridge Library from 28 September 17 October and finally visits Oxgangs Library  from 19 October to 17 November.

The individuals featured in the exhibition are: Anna Politkovskaya (Russia) Lydia Cacho (Mexico) Anushka Anastasia Solomon (Malaysia) Shirin Ebadi (Iran) Arundhati Roy (India) Wangari Maathai (Kenya) Aung San Suu Kyi (Burma) Woeser (Tibet) Pablo Pacheco (Cuba) Iyad Hayateleh (Palestine) Shi Tao (China) Chris Abani (Nigeria).
