City railroaded into charging ten times normal rent for allotments

They could be the most expensive allotments in the country, at around ten times the normal rent.

The Scottish Allotment Gardens Society is trying to bring a small disused site back into use to address the critical shortage of plots in the Capital.

They say the Morningside site has historically been used as allotments and is not suitable for development as it is right next to a railway.
