'Carry a Poem' in the City of Literature

posted 4 Feb 2010, 05:41 by myEdinburgh Admin
As part of the February 2010 citywide reading campaign – Carry a Poem – four locations in Edinburgh are ‘carrying a poem’ in the City of Literature: The National Library, the Poetry Garden’s Melville monument, the Royal Mile (City Chambers) and the Usher Hall.

The projections are part of a month-long campaign by the City of Literature, Scottish Poetry Library and Edinburgh Libraries to celebrate poetry. 13,000 free books and 28,000 free pocketcards are being distributed around the city, with more than 30 events taking place in schools and community venues across the city – all designed to get us carrying poetry with us every day.

So why not get involved – how do you carry your poem? Spread the word and tell us your story: send us your photos, follow us on twitter, start carrying poetry.
