Bus fares to rise from 18th January

We are making major changes to most of our fares and tickets from 18 January 2009.

This article contains a full list of these fare changes.

Due to the current economic and operational climate, and in response to fuel tax changes announced in the recent budget, most Lothian Buses, Airlink and Night Buses fares will be increased.
The changes will take effect from Sunday 18 January 2009 and will be:
 
Lothian Buses SINGLE fares (one journey, any distance):
ADULT SINGLE = £1.20 CHILD SINGLE = 70p
 
Lothian Buses DAYTICKET fares (unlimited travel for one day): 
ADULT DAYTICKET = £3 CHILD DAYTICKET = £2.40
Available on-bus, from our Travelshops, or from our E-SHOP. 
 
Lothian Buses CITYSINGLE tickets (single journey pre-purchase tickets):
£24 for a book of 20 tickets 
Available from our Travelshops and through our E-SHOP.
 
Airlink SINGLE and OPEN RETURN fares:
ADULT SINGLE = £3.50 CHILD SINGLE = £2 (unchanged)
ADULT RETURN = £6 CHILD RETURN = £3 (unchanged)
 
Night Buses NIGHT TICKET fares (unlimited Night Buses travel for one morning):
NIGHT TICKET = £3
NIGHT TICKET (upon production of a valid Ridacard) = £1.50 (unchanged)
 
RIDACARD prices (for best value unlimited travel on Lothian Buses & Airlink):
ADULT ridacard
1 week = £15, 4 week = £45, Direct Debit (per month) = £42, Annual = £540
CHILD ridacard
1 week = £10, 4 week = £30, Direct Debit (per month) = £28, Annual = £360
Young Student
1 week = £13, 4 week = £38, Direct Debit (per month) = £35, Annual = £456
