Bus crash cyclist seriously hurt

A woman has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a bus while she was cycling in Edinburgh.

Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which left a 35-year-old Chinese woman in hospital.

The collision happened at about 0900 GMT on Wednesday at the Crewe Toll roundabout.

The woman was hit by a Lothian bus travelling east towards Ferry Road. Police have appealed for witnesses.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "This has been a very serious collision which has left a woman with severe injuries which required urgent medical attention.

"We are asking for anyone who was in the Crewe Toll area this morning and saw the incident to contact police to help with our inquiries."
