Broughton High School Delay In Opening

The opening of the new Broughton High School will be delayed until Friday 27 February. The school was due to open on Wednesday (25 February) but has been delayed because of late construction challenges and operational issues to prepare the school for students to return. Students should report to the new school building on Friday morning at 8.25am.

Commenting on the delay, Councillor Marilyne MacLaren, Convener of Education, Children and Families said: "I know this delay will be a huge disappointment to the Broughton High School community but I am sure everyone will agree that it is important that everything is set up and well organised for the students returning to class. While this is disappointing news, I am confident that when the students arrive at their new school on Friday they will be impressed with their new school, which is a truly fantastic building.
