An innovative employment initiative helping women in Edinburgh overcome barriers to employment has received a cash boost to help expand its services.

Women into Work (WOW) has received a Big Lottery Fund grant which will help it to provide hundreds of women with a greater chance to get jobs through new training courses.

WOW, along with Skillnet Edinburgh, is one of three Edinburgh-based organisations sharing in £564,949 from the National Lottery good cause distributors.

Women Onto Work (WOW) works with some of the most marginalised women across Edinburgh, including those who have faced mental health problems or have been affected by mental and physical abuse. It received £296,282 to fund courses.
