A £40,000 specially-adapted minibus has been handed over to help elderly people in the Lochend area of the city.

The Volkswagen Crafter 17-seater was presented to the Lochend Neighbourhood Centre by officials from Help The Aged.

Money for the vehicle was partly raised by staff and users at the centre after it emerged the bus was greatly needed to help more than 80 elderly people who use the service, many of them with mental health issues.

Lochend Neighbourhood Centre has served its community for more than a quarter of a century.
